A dangerous dresser's blog about dressing dangerously.
Here is another “new” item. This is a 1991 Larry Bird fan shirt. You can see right away that the layout of the shirt is very 90’s. Even if the year the shirt was produced in tiny print at the bottom of the graphic didn’t tip one off to the age of the shirt, the bright colours and randomly scattered shapes would. For me, old sports shirts like this are sweet, and I like this particular shirt for a few reasons. I really like the fact that the photo in the graphic on the back of the shirt is different than the photo in the graphic on the back of the shirt. Stylistically, it is a nice detail that most likely would go unnoticed. I really like that the graphic on the back of the shirt notes that he had been in the NBA for 12 years. Though he played for 13, when this shirt was made he had only played for twelve making it a bit unique in that respect. When a shirt has something like the aforementioned statement on it, it essentially ensuring that at the end of the year, that shirt will no longer go into production. It’s short span of production coupled with the age of the shirt give it a certain rarity that I really like. Like the Gators shirt, this cost me 99 cents at my source. A small price to pay for a step closer to being FRESHTODEATH.
